LAWS OP MARYLAND.

 

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That if any person shall

bruise or injure

beat, dog, bruise, or in any manner injure any
horned or black cattle, sheep or hogs, the owner or

 

tenant of the property whereon such damage shall
be done, shall be liable for an action of damages for

 

the injury, to the full amount of the actual damage,

 

to be estimated by two disinterested persons, one

 

chosen by each party, and to be recovered before any

 

justice of the peace of the county; and if either

 

party shall refuse to appoint an appraiser of such

 

damage for the space of five days from the injury

 

done, any justice of the peace may appoint in his

 

stead.

 

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

CHAPTER 477.

 

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council

 

of Baltimore, to purchase at its discretion, the

 

property of the Western Maryland Rail Road

 

Company, and to issue the bonds of the City of

 

Baltimore, in order to provide for the payment

 

money for said purchase.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
