    IV.  And be it enacted, That an act of assembly, passed at a session begun
and held at the city of Annapolis, on the twenty-sixth day of April,
in the year seventeen hundred and fifteen, entitled, An act ascertaining
what damages shall be allowed upon protested bills of exchange, hereby
is repealed; provided, that all bills of exchange, drawn before the passage
of this act, and already or hereafter protested, shall be subject to the
regulations contained in the said act hereby repealed.

                                            CHAP. XXXIX.
An ACT for consolidating the funds belonging to King William's
    school in the city of Annapolis with the funds of Saint
    John's college.

Passed Mar. 2.
    WHEREAS the body corporate, created by the name of the
rectors, governors, trustees and visitors, of the free-schools of
Maryland, but commonly known by the name of, and since
their creation called, by sundry acts of assembly, the rector, governors,
trustees and visitors of King William's school, in the city of Annapolis,
have represented to the general assembly, that they are desirous of appropriating
the funds belonging to the said school to the benefit, support and
maintenance, of Saint John's college, in such manner as shall be consistent
with and better fulfil the intentions of the founders and benefactors of
the said school, in advancing the interests of piety and learning; and have
prayed that a law may pass for the said purpose;
Preamble.
    II.  Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the said
rector, governors, trustees and visitors, of King William's school, shall
meet at their usual place of meeting, on the twenty-second day of February,
in the present year seventeen hundred and eighty-six, or on any other
day thereafter, as shall be by them appointed, and appoint a committee of
their own body, consisting of five persons, to meet the visitors and governors
of Saint John's college, or a committee thereof, and to confer and
treat with them on the terms and conditions upon which the funds and
property belonging to the said school shall be conveyed to the said visitors
and governors of Saint John's college; and if the said committees shall
agree on the terms and conditions, the same shall be reported at a meeting
of the rector, governors, trustees and visitors of King William's school,
at which meeting, every member on that day in the city of Annapolis shall
have notice to attend, and if the said terms and conditions shall be approved
by eleven members, they, or any eleven of the said body corporate, may, by
a deed executed and acknowledged before the general court, or any judge
thereof, or the county court of Anne-Arundel, or any two justices thereof,
and recorded within six months of the date among the records of the general
court of the western shore, or the records of Anne-Arundel county, grant
and convey unto the visitors and governors of Saint John's college, and
their successors, all the lands, chattels, and choses in action, and property
belonging to the said school, upon the terms and condition to be agreed
on and ratified as aforesaid, and such deed shall be sufficient to pass the
said property; and the said visitors and governors of Saint John's college,
shall thereupon have full power to sue by the name of their own body
corporate, and to recover all things to which the said school now has a
right, and which shall have been conveyed as aforesaid; the said visitors
and governors to be named as assignees whenever they shall prosecute an
action upon a bond.

    III.  And be it further enacted, That in case the terms or conditions upon
which the property aforesaid may be agreed to be transferred be broken
and not complied with by the said visitors and governors of Saint John's
college, then the said property shall revest in the rector, governors, trustees
