NOVEMBER, 1696 COURT 71

to Come her the grand Inquest by him Sumoned and that he Returne the
pannell of the Same which Said pannell being Returned and the Jurors thereon
being Called Likewise Came (Viz.)

James Stodart, foreman, John Browne, Carpenter, John Chittan, Joshua Hall,

Daniel Daniellson, John Garner, William Selby, Edward Willett, William

Hunter, Richard Edward, John Forrest, Thomas Bridges, Thomas Lucas,

Samuell Magruder, Jonathan Simmons, John Ramsey, Robert Orme.

Sumoned by me Thomas Greenfeild, Sheriffe.

Which Said Jurors haveing all of them taken the oath of grand Jurymen
went out to Considder of what presentments Should Come before them and
after Some Small time Returned with these presentments Following (Viz.)

I doe present James Boulton for denying his taxables. by William Mills
Constable.

On the back of the Said bill was Endorsed (Billa Vera.)

Wee doe present Isaack Williams and William Willson for Killing a heifer
by the information of John Browne Jr. and John Murth. On the back of the
Said bill was Endorsed (Billa Vera).

I doe present Elizabeth Pole Servant woman to Allexander Harbott for have-
ing a basterd Francis Marbury Constable of Piscattaway hundred (Endorsed on
the back of the Said bill (Billa Vera).

I doe present Joan Wood Servant woman to John Demall for basterdizing:
Christopher Thompson.

On the back of the Said bill was Endorsed (Billa Vera).

[67] Peregrine Browne and Company plantiffe: Isaack Williams Defendant.

The plantiffes by Joshua Cecell their Attorney Sues the Defendant in a plea
of trespass upon the Case for one thowsand ninty two pounds of tobaccoe due
by Account as by Accompt here Sett downe and Decleration filed Appeareth.

Isaack Williams Debtor to Peregrine Browne and Company March the 21th 1695/6

To 1 Ivory half ted knife 15, To 1 pair of mens Shews 50, to 1 knife [12] .... 077

To 1/2 lb. thred 1,000 of pinns 35, To 1 romall handkerchief and one peice

of tape att 40 ........................................................ 075

October the 21th 1696.

Then Came Mr. Jacob Morland and made oath on the holy Evangelists that
the above Account is a Just and true Account and that hee nor none by his
order ever received any part or parcell thereof Sworne to the day and yeare
abovesaid before me. Henry Lowe.

And the Said Isaack Williams in his propper person Cometh and defendeth
the force and Injury when etc. and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Action
aforesaid of the Said plantiffes not but that hee oweth the Said plantiffes the
Said Sume of one thowsand ninty two pounds of tobaccoe in manner and forme
as in the Accompt above is Expressed.

Therefore it is Considered that the Said Peregrine Browne and Company
Recover against the Said Isaack Williams the Sume of one thowsand ninty two
pounds of tobaccoe their Debt due by Account aforesaid as alsoe the Sume of
