Then was the Grand Jury allowed four hundred pounds of Tobacco att Mr.
Spornes.
Then the Court adjourned till to morrow morneing Eight of the Clocke and
then mett and Satt (Viz.)
Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. John Wight, Mr. William Barton, Mr.
Robert Bradley, Mr. Robert Tyler, Mr. Samuell Magruder, Comisioners.
To his majesties Comissioners in Prince Georges County Court now Sitting
Your petitioner Derick Decline doth give you to understand that he is Sixty
five years of age, and is not able to pay his Leavie therefore he would desier you
if you pleas to take it in Consideration and Pitty his Condition Concerning the
matter soe I rest your Servant. Derick Decline.
The above petition answered.
Ordered that Elizabeth Banks have allowed her from this County one Hundred
Pounds of Tobacco Per Month To be Paid unto any Person that Shall take her
in near the Coole Spring to make use thereof in ordar for the Cure of her Blinde-
ness they findeing her good Dyett and Lodging.
Ordered that the Sheriff Fetch Elinor Browne into Court to answer etc.

Bee it remembred that the Jurors of our Sovereigne Lord the King for the body
of Prince Georges County did present Elinor Browne of the aforsaid County
Spincter for that Shee the Said Elinor Browne the 27th day of January in the
year of our Lord 1698 [1699] att Charles Towne within the Jurisdiction of this
Court with force etc. Six Dollars and a French halfe Crowne to the value of
twenty Nine Shillings and three pence Sterling being the Propper money of John
Mortemore found did Steal take and Carry away against his majestyes peace etc.
and an act of assembly in that Case made and Provided.

And now here at this day to witt the 28th day of March this Same Court before
the Justices of our Sovereigne Lord the King att Charles Towne aforesaid came
the Said Elinor Browne in Custody of the Sheriff of Prince Georges County and
being brought to Barr here in her proper person Presently it is demanded of the
Said Elinor Browne how Shee would acquitt her self of the Premisses above
Imposed upon her. And the Said Elinor Browne cometh and Defendeth the
Force and Injury when etc. and Saith that She is in noe wise Guilty thereof and
thereof for good and Evill putts her Selfe upon the Country and this She in
Proper persona.

Therefore it is Commanded that the Sheriffe that with out delay he cause to
Come here twelve etc. by whom etc. and who neither etc. to recognize etc. because
as well etc. and now here at this Day that is to Say the 28th day of March here
came As well the Said Joshua Cecell as the said Elinor Browne and the Jurors
thereon Impanelled being Called Likewise Came (To witt)
