SEPTEMBER, 1698 COURT 375
The before Docquett of writts and Subpoenas was returned by Thomas
Greenfeild Sheriff.
Att Prince Georges County Court held at Charles Towne the 27th of Septem-
ber in the tenth year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord William the third
by the grace of God of England Scottland France and Ireland King Defender
of the faith etc. Annoque Domini 1698 by his Majesties Justices thereunto
authorized and appoynted (Viz.)
Present: Mr. Robert Tyler, Mr. Samuell Magruder, Mr. Robert Wade.
For Lack of more Justices it was the Oppinion of the Court that they Ad-
journe till to Morrow morneing Eight of the Clock Mr. Thomas Greenfeild
promiseing to give notice to Mr. Hollyday and Mr. White. Mr. Wade Gives
his disasent.
Present: Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. John White, Mr. Robert Tyler, Mr.
Robert Wade, Mr. Samuell Magruder.
Command was given to the Clark to produce the Comision for the Justices
of Prince Georges County which being read in the hearing of Mr. Robert
Bradley who haveing taken the oaths appoynted by act of Parliament instead
of the Oaths of Alleagiance and Supramacy as allso the Oath of a Justice of
the Peace and subscribed the test tooke his place according to the Comision.
It is ordred that John Davis gives Security for his Good behaviour Where-
upon came Thomas Vaughun and was his Security in a Bond of tenn pounds
Sterling and John Davis Likewise bound in the same Sume.
[343] Overseers for the High Wayes for Each Hundred in this County (Viz.)
Nathaniell Magruder and Paul Raulins for Mattapony Hundred. John Barrett
and Bartholomew Goff for Mount Callvert hundred. Edward Dauson and
Matthew Mocaboy for Collington hundred. Thomas Swaringam and John
Turner for Patuxent Hundred. John Penny and Thomas Locker for Newscott-
land Hundred. William Coggwell and Francis Marberry for Piscataway Hun-
dred.
Ordered by the Court here that the Clerk send Warrants to Each of the
before Mentioned Overseers of the High wayes. Which was Accordingly done.

The Humble petition of John Meriton. Most Humble Sheweth.
That ever since your Last court your Petitioner hath Lain Sorely afflicted with
the Gripes and still doth continue Languishing with the same as allso with
Freaquent Swonings wherby your Petitioner is disabled to give his attendance
as in duety bound wherefore he humbley prayes noe advantage may be taken
against his Clients and your Petitioner shall as in Duety bound Ever Pray.
