being Absent from home that I Cannot come by them therefore will See to have
them by the next Court. I am your Freind and Servant Kenelin Cheseldyne.
Upon which it is ordered that all Actions where Ninian Beall is Conserned
Shall be Continued untill the next Court.
Then did the Court [adjourne] for one hower.
Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. Robert Tylor, Mr. Robert Wade, Mr.
Samuell Magruder, Mr. Thomas Sprigg, Jr., Commisoners.
[299] William Lee made Oath that he Attended three dayes for Robert
Brasheere against Richard Edwards in June Court Last past: Whereupon it is
ordered that the Said Robert Brasheere pay unto the Said William Lee ninty
lbs. of tobaccoe for his Said Attendance etc.
To the Worshipfull Bench of Justices for Prince Georges County Greeting
your worships: may Remember not Long Since I brought before your worships
a Servant boy of mine named William Cutler which had Absented himselfe out
of my Servise Since that time on the 9th day of Febuary the Said Servant hath
againe absented himselfe out of my Servis Fifteen dayes hopeing that your
worships Upon a Serious Consideration of what is here writt will grant me the
priveledge of the Law in that Case provided.
Your worships to Command March the 23d 1697/8 Robert Orme
Upon which petition the Said William Cutler was Examined here by the
Court and he Confessed that he had Run away and Absented himselfe from his
Said Masters Servis Fourteen dayes Whereupon it is Ordered that the Said
William Cutler Serve his Said Master one hundred and forty dayes for Said
Runaway time etc.
To the Worshipfull Justices of Prince Georges County Court now Sitting.
The humble petition of William Offoot Sheweth.
That whereas your petitioner hath a poore woman Liveing with him Since
Last March and was Allowed for the yeare twelve hundred pounds of tobaccoe
but your petitioner finding it to Little for his trouble therefore desier your
worships to Allow more otherwise to place her with Somebody Else and your
poore petitioner Shall as in duty bound Ever pray etc.
Ordered that William Offoot have 800 lbs. of tobaccoe a yeare to find the
Said poore woman Cloathing and Eight hundred lbs. of tobaccoe more for her
yearly Accomedations in all Sixteen hundred pounds of tobaccoe to be Allowed
him in the next yeare Leavie.
Mr. Robert Wade desiers his marke may be Recorded (Viz.) A Cropp and two
Slitts on the Right Eare and a flowerdeluce on the Left Eare.
Phillip Lewen desiers his marke may be Recorded (Viz.) a Cropp under bitt
and hole Slitt out on the Right Eare and a Cropp and hole on the Left Eare.
Joseph Harryson desiers his marke may be Recorded (Viz.) a Cropp two Slitts
and over bitted on Each Eare.
Then did the Court Adjourne untill to morrow morning 8 a Clock.
