Constables.

two constables for each of the several wards of Balti-
more city. The said constables shall hold their respec-
tive offices for two years from the date of their respec-
tive appointments, and until their respective succes-
sors are duly appointed and qualified. The said Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, are hereby author-

ized to make the appointments directed by this sec-
tion, on the fourth Monday in March eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-six, and on the fourth Monday in
March in even second year thereafter; provided that
the Mayor of said city, shall have full power in his
discretion to remove any of the said constables for
any malconduct in office, whether the said constable
may be convicted in a court of law, as hereinafter
prescribed or not.

Removal.

SEC. 628 L. If any justice of the peace, or consta-
ble, appointed under the provisions of this act, be
convicted in a court of law of any misdemeanor in
office, his removal from said office shall be part of
the sentence or judgment pronounced upon him by
the said court. No constable shall deputize any per-
son to act in the service of any writ whatever, for or
in his behalf.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 29.

 

An act to amend the charter of the Worcester Rail-
road Company and its supplements.

Borrow
money.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Worcester Railroad Company
be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to
borrow money and issue its bonds therefor, on the
pledge of its property, estate and franchises, bearing
interest at the rate of six per centum per annum,
redeemable at any time after twenty years, and not
