CONSTITUTION

            INDEX TO THE LAWS.

    Every free white male citizen of this state, above
twenty-one years of age, and no other, having resided
12 months within this state, and 6 months in
the county, or in the city of Annapolis or Baltimore,
next preceding the election, shall have a right of suffrage,
and shall vote by ballot for electors of the president
and vice president of the United States, for representatives
to congress, for delegates to the general
assembly, electors of the senate, and sheriffs,
—All and every part of the constitution inconsistent
with this act annulled,
    It shall not be lawful for the general assembly of this
state to lay an equal and general tax, or any other
tax, on the people of this state, for the support of the
christian religion,
—The several clauses of the declaration of rights and
constitution, so far as they are contrary to this act, annulled,
    All such parts of the constitution as required a property
qualification in persons to be appointed, or
holding offices of profit or trust, and in persons elected
members of the legislature, or electors of the senate,
repealed and abolished,
    The time of the meeting of the general assembly
shall be on the first Monday in December in each
year, instead of the first Monday in November, as
prescribed,
—The governor shall be chosen on the second Monday
in December in each year, in the manner prescribed
in the constitution,
—The council to the governor shall be elected on
the first Tuesday after the second Monday in December
in each year, in the manner prescribed by the constitution,
—All annual appointments of civil officers shall be
made in the third week in December in every year, in
the manner directed,
—All and every part of the constitution (articles 23,
25, 26, 49,) inconsistent with this act, annulled,

    The constitution changed as to election districts in
Prince George's county,

—Same, in Allegany county,

—Same, in Dorchester county,

    All and every part of the constitution, which related
to the attorney general, annulled,

—The duties and services provided by law to be done
and performed by the attorney general, to be done and
performed by such person, and in such manner, as the
general assembly should direct,
    The polls for the second election district of Anne-Arundel
county to be held at the house of Jacob Waters,
on the road from Annapolis to Washington,
—All that part of the second election district, lying
out of Annapolis, to constitute the second election district
of Anne-Arundel county,
—The city of Annapolis to constitute the sixth election
district of Anne-Arundel county, for all elections
for sheriffs, electors of president and vice-president,
and electors of the senate of this state, and for a member
of congress, which said elections shall be held by
the mayor, recorder and aldermen, of the said city, or
any three or more of them, at such place within the
city as they may appoint,
