CHAPTER 138.
AN ACT to add additional sections to article eleven,
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Frederick
county, relating to powers and duties of the Mayor,
Aldermen and Common Council, of Frederick city,
to follow section and hundred and seventy-seven,
added thereto by the Act of eighteen hundred
and seventy, chapter three hundred and fourteen.
SECTION 1. Be it exacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following section be added to
article eleven, of the Code of Public Local Laws, of
Frederick county, relating to the powers and duties
of the Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council of
Frederick city, to follow section one hundred and
seventy-seven, added thereto by the Act of eighteen
hundred and seventy, chapter three hundred and four-
teen:
SECTION one hundred and seventy-eight, the said Alder-
men and Common Council shall have full power and
authority to authorize and permit, and by ordinance
to grant to any railroad company, whose road enters
or is intended to enter tire limits of Frederick city,
the right and privilege of laying down and con-
structing its track, and of building and grading its
road along, through and over any of the streets,
lanes, or alleys, of said city, subject to such regula-
tions, as may be prescribed in the ordinance granting
said right and privilege of laying down and construct-
ing said track, and building and grading said road,
along, over and through any street, lane or alleys, of
said city.
SEC. (1.) And be It further enacted. That this Act
shall take effect from the date of its passage.
