The following communications which had been received
from His Excellency, Governor Bowie, by the hands of Rich-
ard O. Hollyday, Esquire, Secretary of State, were read:

I nominate John Williams of Washington county, Weigher
of Hay and Straw at the new Western Scales in the City of
Baltimore, vice John M. Hauck, deceased.

The aforegoing nomination was referred to the Committee
on Executive Nominations, hereafter to be appointed.
