1872.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 203 On motion of Mr. McColgan, Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro- duce a bill, to authorize the Comptroller to credit the claim for arrears of pension of Mary C. Roberts, a widow of a sailor of the war of 1812—14. On motion of Mr. Jamart, Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to introduce a bill, to pay the sum of three hundred dollars to all persons who furnished substitutes or paid commutation money to avoid being forced into the service of the United States during the late civil war. On motion of Mr. Radcliffe, Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro- duce a bill, to repeal and amend chapter 441, of the Acts of 1870, title "Fees of Officers," so as to include Dorchester county, forbidding the payment by the County Commission- ers of officers' fees, until said fees have been approved by the Judges of the Circuit Court of said county, or a majority thereof. On motion of Mr. Turner, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to introduce a bill, to add an additional section to Article LXXVII. of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Railroads." Mr. Streett, Chairman of the Committee on the Library, to whom was referred the Resolution requesting his Excellency, the Governor, to cause to be presented to the Law Library of Chicago, a copy of the Reports by the Court of Appeals, Maryland Chancery Reports and of the Code of Public Gen- eral and Public Local Laws and of the books of Maryland Practice and Alexander's British Statutes and Bozman's His- tory of Maryland, reported hack the same with proposed amendments. AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. Resolution requesting his Excellency, the Governor, to cause to be presented to the Law Library of the City of Chi- cago, a copy of the Reports of the Court of Appeals of this State, and also of the Code of Public General and Public Local Laws, Johnson's Maryland Chancery Reports, Boz-man's History of Maryland and Alexander's British Statutes. Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That his Excellency, the Governor, be and he is hereby respectfully requested to cause to be transmitted to Samuel H.
