FRIDAY, January 12, 1872.
The Senate met.
Prayer by Rev. Dr. Henderson.
Present at roll call the following Senators :
Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Claggett,
Downs, Dennis; Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Longwell,
Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Tim-
mons, Tuck, Wilson, Williams—18.
Rowland E. Bevans, appointed "Folder, appeared, qualified,
and entered upon the discharge of his duties.
On motion by Mr. Fields,
The unanimous consent of the Senate was given to the
Committe on Printing to hold a session to-day.
Mr. Blake submitted the following order :
Ordered, That 3,000 copies of the Govenor 's Message and
accompanying Documented, 2,000 in English and 1,000 in
German, be printed for the use of the Senate.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Print-
ing.
On motion by Mr. Spates,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
prepare and report a bill, entitled an Act to change the name
of the Childrens' Aid Society of Baltimore to the name of,
