The Local Health Services Funding Review Com-
mittee was created in 1993 (Chapter 593, Acts of
1993). The Committee's charge was to recommend
a formula for allocating funds to local jurisdictions
for health services. The Committee also was to
assess how these services might be funded in the
future, beginning with Fiscal Year 1996.
The Committee submitted a report to the Governor
and General Assembly on November 1, 1993.
LONG-TERM CARE DIVISION
Formerly under the Office on Aging, the Division's
functions were reassigned to the Housing and
Long-Term Care Division in 1993.
MARYLAND HIGHER EDUCATION
SUPPLEMENTAL LOAN AUTHORITY
Having sold all its bonds and paid off all its debts,
the Authority concluded its work in 1993.
MARYLAND INSTITUTE FOR AGRICULTURE
& NATURAL RESOURCES
Under the University of Maryland System, the Maryland
Institute for Agriculture and Natural Resources was
formed in 1990. The Institute coordinated the work of
the Agricultural Experiment Station and the Coopera-
tive Extension Service. The Institute was abolished on
October 1, 1993, by the Board of Regents of the
University of Maryland System. Since then, the College
of Agriculture at the University of Maryland College Park
has overseen the Agricultural Experiment Station and
the Cooperative Extension Service.
MONTROSE MILITARY RESERVATION
Under the Military Department, renamed by the
Board of Public Works as Camp Fretterd in honor of
Adjutant General James F. Fretterd on Feb. 19,1992.
NEW COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF BALTIMORE
Renamed in 1992 as Baltimore City Community
College (Chapter 208, Acts of 1992).

The Teacher Education Task Force was formed by
the Maryland Higher Education Commission in
September 1991. The charge of the Task Force was
to examine alternative models for the education of
teachers at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The initial report of the Task Force was made on Decem-
ber 1,1992. The final report will be issued in April 1994.
