members who are: the Secretary of State of
Maryland, the Secretary, Department of
Human Resources, the Secretary of Person-
nel, the Chairman of Maryland Veterans
Commission, and the United States Veterans
Administration representative, as designated
by the federal supervisor of Maryland Vet-
erans Affairs.
Nine of the remaining members represent
Maryland chapters of the: American Le-
gion, the Fleet Reserve Association, the
Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled
American Veterans, the World War 1 Vet-
erans, the Marine Corps League, the Ameri-
can Veterans of World War 11, Korea and
Vietnam, the Jewish War Veterans, and the
Catholic War Veterans.
The remaining sixteen members represent
business, labor, the General Assembly and
the general public. The Governor designates
the Chairman and the Co-Chairman.

MIGRATORY LABOR IN
MARYLAND

At the request of the General Assembly,
the Governor created this permanent Com-

mittee in 1959 to develop and recommend
standards to insure that out-of-state farm
laborers shall be imported, maintained, and
employed in Maryland under satisfactory
conditions of housing, sanitation, health and
welfare.
The Committee consists of the following
members or their designees: The Secretary,
Department of Human Resources, the Di-
rector of the Social Services Administra-
tion, the Executive Director of the Employ-
ment Security Administration, the Secretary
of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Secre-
tary of Agriculture, the State Superinten-
dent of Schools, the Commissioner of Labor
and Industry, the Superintendent of the
Maryland State Police, the Director of the
Cooperative Extension Service of the Uni-
versity of Maryland, the Executive Secretary
of the Catholic Rural Life Conference, the
Executive Secretary of the Mid-Atlantic
Food Processors Association, the Executive
Secretary of the Maryland Farm Bureau,
Inc., the Secretary-Treasurer of the Mary-
land-District of Columbia A.F.L.-C.I.O.,
the President of the Maryland Vegetable
Growers' Association, the Chairman of the
Tri-County Migrant Committee, Inc., and a
representative of the migrant community.
The Committee is to submit an annual
report by November 1 of each year (J.R.
No. 9, Acts of 1959).
