The Governor created this Committee in 1969 to advise the State
Department of Forests and Parks on all aspects of the development
of the Gunpowder River Valley Park.

JOINT COMMISSION TO STUDY PASSENGER CARRIER
FACILITIES IN THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA

This Commission, originally appointed by Joint Resolution No. 12,
Acts of 1964, was extended by Joint Resolution No. 23, Acts of 1961,
to continue its studies of the adequacy of passenger carrier facilities
in the Washington Metropolitan area, to negotiate with Virginia and
District of Columbia representatives and the Federal Government for
a further compact to establish a permanent organization for transpor-
tation in the area and to report from time to time on the progress of
their work.

The Governor appointed this Commission in 1960 to study and
recommend legislation on the relationship of management and labor
in Maryland.

PATAPSCO LAND ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Governor appointed the Patapsco Land Advisory Committee in
1951. It consists of sixteen members, six representing the State, two
representing Baltimore City, and two representing each of the four
counties in which the park is situated. The Committee advises the
Department of Forests and Parks in the acquisition of land for the
Patapsco 'State Park.
