Baltimore, February 20, 1913. Attended public schools of Anne
Arundel and Baltimore Counties and Baltimore College of Commerce.
Garage owner. Member of the Moose. Married. Elected to the House
of Delegates in 1950.

J. ELLIS TAWES, Democrat, Somerset County; born in Crisfield,
April 10, 1899. Attended the public schools of Crisfield. Merchant.
Member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and Elks. Served in the
U. S. Army 1917-1919. Married. Elected to the House of Delegates
in 1950.

CHESTER W. TAWNEY, Democrat, Baltimore 3rd; born at Havre de

Hurlock, June 23, 1915. Attended the public schools of Hurlock,
Washington and Lee University and the University of Maryland Law
School. Attorney. Member of the Maryland Bar, Rotary, Elks,
American Legion. President Dorchester County Forestry Board 1947
to present. Served with the U. S. Navy 1942-1945. Married. Elected
to the House of Delegates in 1950.

C. CLIFTON VIRTS, Democrat, Frederick County; born at Leesburg,
Va., March 3, 1910. Attended Leesburg Public School; the Virginia
School for the Blind, the University of Virginia, and the Law School
of the University of Maryland. Admitted to the Bar in 1940. Married.
Elected to the House of Delegates in 1946.

GEORGE C. WAGNER, Democrat, Baltimore 2nd; born in Baltimore,
April 7, 1903. Attended Baltimore public school and Baltimore Busi-
ness College. Watchmaker. Clerk to Supervisors of Elections 1938-
1949. Married. Elected to the House of Delegates in 1950.

ROBERT A. WALLACE, Republican, Montgomery County; born in
Takoma Park, February 15, 1915. Attended the public schools of
Montgomery County and the District of Columbia and the National
University School of Law. Attorney. Member of the Maryland Bar,
Lions and the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Served in the U. S.
Navy 1942-1946. Married. Elected to the House of Delegates in 1950.

JAMES JOSEPH WELSH, JR., Democrat, Baltimore 2nd; born in
Baltimore, January 27, 1927. Attended high school in Baltimore and
graduate of Baltimore Pre-Law School. City Inspector. Served in
the Merchant Marine during World War II. Married. Elected to
