County Seat—Ellicott City.

Origin of Name—After Col. John Eager Howard, the elder.
Date of Formation—1851. Area—365 square miles.
Court Terms—Jury, third Monday in March and first Monday in
September. Non-jury, third Monday in June and first Mondy in De-
cember.
Orphans' Court Days—Every Tuesday in each month.
