514*. When any inspector shall bring his own tobacco to the
warehouse whereof he is inspector, the same shall not be marked
unless it shall be viewed, examined and passed by the inspector
of some other warehouse.

515*. It shall be the duty of the several inspectors, when re-
quired by the owner or agent, to draw samples of the tobacco
inspected by them, which samples shall consist of not less than
five bundles of the average quality of the tobacco in the hogs-
head from which they are drawn, and he shall deliver the said
samples to the lessee of the warehouse of which he is inspector,
to be dealt with as directed in the next succeeding section.

516*. It shall be the duty of each lessee, and he is hereby re-
quired, to confine the samples of each hogshead delivered to him
by the inspector, separately, by tying them together with a strong
tape run through the head of said samples, in such manner as
may appear to him most likely to prevent the bundle from se-
parating ; and the lessee shall confine on the said sample so
united together a slip of pasteboard, and seal the said tape and
pasteboard with sealing wax, and impress the said wax with the
stamp of the inspector, so that the name of the inspection where
the tobacco is inspected shall be legible on the wax; and it shall
also be the duty of the lessee to write on the said pasteboard
the number of the hogshead from which the sample shall have
been drawn, the name of the owner thereof, and the name of
the said inspector; and when required to do so by the owner or
his agent, the inspector shall draw and deliver, and the lessee
shall tie and seal and mark, duplicate samples; and each lessee
shall be entitled to five cents for each sample so tied, sealed and
marked by him, to be paid on the delivery of the tobacco from
which the same shall have been drawn.

517*. The inspector who shall pass any tobacco shall certify
the same to the lessee of the warehouse in which the same is
stored, stating in such certificate the warehouse, gross, tare and
net weight, and the quality, whether first or second; the first to
consist of tobacco clear of and unmixed with trash; and upon
the receipt of such certificate, the lessee of sftch warehouse shall
deliver as many notes under his hand to the owner as shall be
required, expressing therein the place and time of reception of
such tobacco, the mark and the matters hereinbefore required to
be set forth in the inspector's certificate.
