citizens of Baltimore county, praying the passage of an Act
to continue the present school system in force 'till July 15,
1868.

Also, the petition of Hon. Anthony Kennedy, J. Hobbs,
and sixty other citizens of Baltimore county, praying the
passage of an Act to continue the present school system in
force 'till July 15, 1868.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Education.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage :

BY THE SENATE.

January 15, 1868.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message inviting this Body to con-
vene with the House of Delegates, in joint assembly, at 12
o'clock, meridian, this day, in accordance with the Act of
Congress entitled " an Act to regulate the times and manner
of holding elections for Senators in Congress," and concur
therein.

Acting Secretary.

Which was read.

Mr. Markland, chairman select committee, reported favor-
ably a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 127 of the 4th
Article of the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the city
of Baltimore, and to substitute in lieu thereof the following :

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage :

BY THE SENATE,

January 15, 1868.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We respectfully request your Honorable Body to return to
the Senate the bill entitled an Act to repeal section 40 of
Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Fred-
erick County," and re-enact the same with amendments.

Mr. Harden, chairman select committee, reported favora-
bly a bill entitled "an Act to change the place of voting in
the Fourth Election District of Carroll County ;"

a bill entitled an Act to amend and re-enact section 805 of
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the
city of Baltimore, under the sub-title Orphans' Court.
