Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 23 of the
first Article of the Code of Public Local Laws, and re-enact
the same with amendments.

Reported it with the following amendments,
Which were read and adopted.
Amendments.

In the second line of the title of the bill after words
" Local Laws " insert the words of" Allegany County."

In 8th line after the word " thereof" insert " not exceed-
ing one mile from the present limits," and strike out in the
8th line after the words "wherever" the words "and
wherever."

The bill was then read a second time.

House bill entitled on Act to repeal sections 2, 3, 4 and 5
of Article 45 of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
usury, and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Which had been ordered to lie on. the table,
Was taken up on its second reading.
On motion by Mr. Garroll,

The bill was made the order of the day for Thursday,
27th instant, at 1 P. M.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported
House till entitled an Act appropriating the sums of money
therein mentioned, to pay the claims of Plummer & Usilton,
Wm. H. Councell, E. E. Ewing, E. T. Perkins, Doctor
Montgomery Johns, Samuel L. Gessenger, John L. Wat-
kins, Samuel Smith and George W. Murdock,

Reported it with the following amendment:

Amendment: Section 1, line 28, strike out all after the
word dollars to the word "to," in the 30th line.

Which was adopted,
And the bill read a second time.
On motion by Mr. Earle, it was

Ordered, That 2500 copies of the Constitution of the State
of Maryland, be printed for the use of the Senate.
