116 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 29,

Mr. Earle, from, the Committee on Finance, reported Sen-
ate bill entitled an Act to refund to Lewis Tydings and
Henry Tydings, of Anne Arundel county, certain sums of
money erroneously paid into the Treasury.

Which was read the first time.
Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay Benjamin Standiford, tax collector, of Harford county,
for overpayment into the Treasury for the year 1865.

Which was read the first time, and,
On motion by Mr. Walsh,

The rules were suspended by the following vote :
AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Kimmel,

Browne, Lee,

Biggs, Miller,

Brewer, Malone,

Clarke, Parker, of Calvert,

Carroll, Parker, of Worcester,

Earle, Spates,

Henkle, Snyder,

Hyland, Smith,

Hammond, Walsh—20.

NEGATIVE—None.

And the Mil read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported
House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Continental
Fire and Marine Insurance Company of Baltimore, with the
following amendments :

Amend 7th section by striking out all after the word Com-
pany, in the 9th line, to the end of the section.

Amend 16th section, 6th line, by inserting before the word
Company the words "capital stock of said."

Amend section 16, line 13, by inserting before the word
city the word "the."

Amend 18th section, line 1, by inserting before the word
whole the word "the."
Which, were concurred in and the bill read a second time,

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported un-
favorably Senate bill entitled an act for the relief of Robert
H. Corbin, of Somerset county,

And the report was concurred in.
