CHAPTER 23.
An ACT for the permanent location of the Treasury Office for the Eastern
Shore of this State.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, much inconvenience is experienced by many of
the public officers, and other persons having business in the
treasury office for the eastern shore of the state, in consequence
of the said office not being permanently established and held
at some central and convenient place on the said shore ; and the
town of Easton, appearing to be the most convenient and cen-
tral point; therefore, to remedy such inconvenience for the
future,

Location.
|
Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, the treasury office for
the eastern shore of this state, shall be, and the same is hereby
declared to be permanently located and established at the town
of Easton, in Talbot county, on said shore, and there to be re-
gularly held and kept by the treasurer of said shore, for the
transaction of the public business, any law to the contrary not-
withstanding.
CHAPTER 35.
AN ACT relating to suits on Bills of Exchange, Promissory Notes, and
other Negotiable Instruments.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, no judgment of any
court of common law in this state, hereafter to be rendered in
any suit, on a bill of exchange, promissory note, or other nego-
tiable instrument, shall be reversed or in any way set aside on
an appeal or writ of error ; because the endorsement or endorse-
ments of such bill of exchange, promissory note, or other nego-
tiable instrument, may be in blank ; and that such judgment
shall be as good and valid to every intent and purpose, as if
such endorsement or endorsements were properly filled up.
CHAPTER 41.
AN ACT to provide for the more comfortable maintenance of Sick Persons
confined in the several Jails of this State.

SEC, 1 . Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall be the duty
of the several sheriffs of this state, to provide such food and
other articles for the comfort of sick persons confined in the
jails of this state, as the physician appointed to attend ou pri-
soners in jail shall deem necessary ; a list of which articles
shall be made out and signed by said physician.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the sheriffs aforesaid shall
be entitled to charge their respective counties with the sum or
