be recorded in a book to be kept among the records of Harfon
county court.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the commissioners electee
or appointed as aforesaid, and their successors shall be, and
they are hereby constituted a body politic and corporate by
the name, style and title of the commissioners of Harford county,
and by that name, shall have continued and perpetual succes
sion, and be capable in law of suing and being sued, of making
and using a corporate seal, and of altering the same; of taking,
holding, selling and conveying all kinds of estates, property
and effects, and of doing all such acts as shall be necessary to
the exercise of all powers which are or shall he vested in
them by this act, or by any other act of assembly, as fully and
effectually as corporate bodies may or can lawfully and right-
fully do.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That when and as soon as the
commissioners to be elected or appointed as aforesaid, shall
have taken and subscribed the oath or affirmation herein before
described, all the power, rights and privileges lawfully exer-
cised by, and all property, estate and effects vested in the
justices of the levy court of Harford county, shall he trans-
ferred to, and vested in the commissioners for Harford county,
who, or any three of them, shall thereafter exercise all the said
powers, rights and privileges, and shall perform all the duties

for Harford county, and no appointment of justices of the levy
court for Harford county, shall thereafter be made, and all the

performed by the said commissioners for Harford county, after

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the commissioners for
Harford county, shall at their annual meetings appoint a well
qualified, fit and proper person, a resident of said county, to
act and serve as clerk to the said commissioners, who shall
transact all the business, and discharge all the duties now ap-
pertaining to the several and respective offices of clerk of the
levy court and commissioners of the tax, in the same manner as
the clerk of Harford county court and the clerk of the commis-
sioners of the tax for said county, are now by law severally
authorized and required to transact the same; and the person
so appointed, shall, before he enters upon the duties of his
