Weighing
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the inspector of hay or
|
other
articles.

straw shall at all times, when required, weigh hemp, cables,
|
|
anchors, dye woods, bark, roots, et cetera, and shall be paid for
|
|
the same at the rate of three cents per hundred pounds.
|
Location
|
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That one of the said scales or
|
directed.

apparatus shall be placed in the western section of the city, and
|
|
the other in the eastern section ; Provided always, that the
|
|
governor may upon petition change the location of the same,
|
|
whenever and so often as he may deem proper, which change
|
|
of location shall be made at the expense of the state.

Adjusting
|
SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the weighing apparatus
|
scales.
|
shall be adjusted at least once in six months, by the standard
|
|
of weights for the city of Baltimore, the expense of which,
|
|
together with all the expense for repairs, shall be paid by the
|
|
inspectors.
|
Fines re-
|
SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That all fines or forfeitures im-
|
coverable.
|
posed by this act, may be recovered with costs, in the name of
|
|
the state of Maryland, in the same manner that small debts are
|
|
now recovered before justices of the peace, and the same when
|
|
recovered shall go, one-half to the informer, and the other half
|
|
to the state.
|
Inspectors'
|
SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That each of the said inspectors
|
bond.

shall give bond to the state of Maryland in the sum of two
|
|
thousand dollars, for the true and faithful performance of the
|
