LAWS OF MARYLAND.— 1837.

Jurisdiction
granted.

fortifications at Fort McHenry, which this legislature duly appre-
ciate; therefore,
Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the right o? jurisdiction of the state of Maryland in and over

 

the lands comprehended in lots numbers thirty-four, thirty-five,
sixty, sixty -one, sixty-two, sixty-three, sixty-four, sixty-five,
sixty-six and sixty-seven, lying and adjoining Fort McHenry, on
Whetstone Point, near the city of Baltimore, which have been
purchased by the United States, the deeds whereof are among
the records of Baltimore county, and also that part of the main
road leading to Fort McHenry, which lies between the said
lots, be, and the same is hereby relinquished, ceded and made
over to the United States for the purposes aforesaid.

CHAPTER 285.

 

A SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to invest the State's share of

 

the Surplus Revenue of the United States, and for other purposes,

 

passed at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-six, chapter

 

two hundred and twenty.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the interest that has accrued, and which may accrue

 

upon the state's share of the surplus revenue of the United

 

States, received and to be received by the treasurer of the wes-

 

tern shore, and directed by the fourth section of the said act of

 

December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-six, chapter

 

two hundred and twenty, to be deposited in some incorporated

 

bank or banks in Baltimore, or elsewhere in this state, at the

 

discretion of the treasurer of the western shore, shall be distri-

 

buted among the counties of this state, and the city of Balti-

 

more, for the support and encouragement of education in this
