entering upon the duties of said offices," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Jones moved a suspension of the rules to give the bill
a third reading ;

On motion of Mr. Smith,

A call of the House was ordered, and the Sergeant-at -Arms
sent after the absent members;

The Sergeant-at-Arms returned after an absence of some
time and reported that he had brought before the Bar of the
House all the absent members in the city; when,

On motion of Mr. Jones,

All further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

The question then recurring upon the suspension of the
rules, it was decided in the negative by yeas and nays as
follow, (three-fourths of all the Members elected to the
House not voting in the affirmative:)
