The Governor appoints four, two of whom shall be Union soldiers,
and two Confederate soldiers, whose duty is to provide a suitable place
at the State Capital for the preservation and display of the battle-flags
of the State. No confirmation; no salary. (Chapter 485, 1900).

The Antietam Battlefield Commission is appointed to co-operate
with the Antietam Battlefield Board in ascertaining and marking the
positions occupied in this battle by the military organizations from
Maryland, both Union and Confederate.
