38 And against the good Laws and Institutions thereof. Theire Maties. Attorney Craves Judgmt. may be entered against the said Mary according to Law in that in that Case provided &c. James: Sangster. Cl. Indt. - - - - The said Mary appears at the Barr and Confesseth the fact and sayeth that Peter Bodkin is the ffather of her Bastard childe. and therefore humbly beggs that Corporall parull punishment may be remitted and a fine taken. which fine the Court accepts. provided she be of good behavior and pay fourty dayes / worke and dyet when demanded as also Court Charges. and that she appear next Court, then and there to prosecute Peter Bodkin. - - - - - And thereupon Came Thomas: Williams and Thomas Tull and did in open Court confess them Selves to be indebted to theire Maties in five pounds a peece sterling money to be Leavyed on their goods and Chattels - - - - The Condition of which Recognizance is such that if the above said Mary. doe in all things performe according to the above said proposalls that then the said Recognizance to be voyd and of none effect Otherwayes to be and remain in full force & vertue And whereas was by the Grand Jury Eliz. Puddiford was by the aforesaid Grand Jury pcented for Bastardy and was arrested to this Court and by Sub Sherriffe and returned Cepi. Morris and Elizabeth Morris did unlawfully Assemble. and convein at the Plantation of Richard: Aldridge and violently by force of Armes, did enter therein, where then and there they did threaten to burne the said Rich: Aldridge house together with his Wife, and the fence did break downe, and with Instruments for the purpose brought, did digg up to the number of fifty Aple trees by there roots. whereof the greater part were bearing trees planted in an Orchard, and then did violently by force and Armes Carry away with - severall other Riots. and out rages done putting their Maties good people in feare and against ye public peace Contrary to the Statute in that Case made and provided. now their Maties. Michael: Holland of Somerset County Marriner was attached to answer unto James Round Mercht. of a Plea of trespass upon the Case. &c. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - And Whereupon the said James Round by Peter Dent his Attorney saith that the said Michael: Holland the tenth day of June in the yeare of our Lord 1689. within the Jurisdiction of this Court by his certain Bill of Loading Subscribed with the propper hand of him the said Michael. here in Court produced may appeare, did Oblige him Selfe to transport Sundry goods and Merchandizes containing two tunn and a halfe in the good Shipp called the Henry and Ann. of Maryland whereof the said Michael was then Comandr. from the Port of Barbadoes. to the Port of Manokin in Somerset County the dainger of the seas only Excected and the said goods when so transported, to be delivered to the said James Round or to his Assigns the freight for the said being paid with accustomed dutyes, nevertheless the said Michael the sd Bill of Loading not regarding but minding and fraudulently intending the said James of One pair of Cart Wheels and furniture Part of the said two tunn and a halfe of goods to the said James hath not delivered although the said Michael to doe the same by the said James hath been requested but the same hath denyed and doth still deny to the damage of said James of eight pounds Sterling and thereof he bringeth his suit Declar Read: Dent pr quer Pleder: John: Doe Rich: Roe Whereupon Appears the said Michael by his Attorney and in open Court did confess judgment for the aforesd wheels and furniture. Maryland John Barber late of this County was attached to answr: unto Peter Presley junior of the County of Northum berland, in Virginia. Gent. in a plea of debt - - - - And whereupon the aforesad Peter by his Attorney Edward Jones. saith that the aforesd John: Barber upon the sixth day of December in the yeare 168(4) then the said John: became indebted unto the aforesd Peter in the sum of twelve hundred and seventy pounds of good neat porke to be paid upon the Plantation, whereon the said John lived then, unto the said Peter by the last day of November next ensueing as doth more plainly appeare by a certain wrighting under the hand and Seal of the defendt. and here in Court produced but the said John little regarding the performance of the aforesd wrighting but fraudulently intending the plt. to deceive in the sum of 1270 pounds of porke although often thereunto required whereupon the plt. saith he is damnifyed and hath damage to the value and loss of eighteen hundred pounds of the like porke and thereupon brings his suite. pr Quer.
