Mr. Williams, of Harford, introduced the following,
JOINT RESOLUTION:
Commending the course of the present Members of the
House of Representatives from Maryland in supporting
the measure commonly known as the Act to establish and
fix gold as the unit value in the United States, and re-
questing the Members of the Senate from Maryland to
use their best efforts to hasten the passage of said Act in
the Senate.
Whereas, The House of Representatives of the United
States has recently passed a bill entitled "An Act to de-
fine and fix the standard value, to maintain the parity of
all forms of money issued or coined in the United States
and for other purposes," commonly known as the Act to
establish and fix gold as the unit of value in the United
States, and
Whereas, All the present members of the House of
Representatives from Maryland voted for said bill, and
the same is now pending before the Senate of the United
States, therefore,
Be it resolved by the General Assemby of Maryland,
that the course of the present members of the House of
Representatives from Maryland as supporting and vot-
ing for said bill is approved and commended.
And be it further resolved, That the members of the
Senate of the United States from Maryland, are hereby
respectfully and earnestly requested to use their best
efforts to hasten the passage of said bill in the Senate.
And be it further resolved, That the Secretary of
State is hereby requested to transmit a copy of these
Resolutions to reach of the Senators and Representatives
in the Congress of the United States from Maryland.
Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Federal Relations.

Mr. Dodson, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,
House bill entitled "An Act to repeal chapter 442, of
the laws passed at the January Session of 1898, title-
‘Talbot County,' sub-title ‘Fish'
