Upon which it was demanded if either of the said Peticoners would administr on the Estate of the
Said Jenckin Morris whereupon Came Thomas Gordon & made Tender to be admr: which was allowed him -
And thereupon gave in open Court an Accot: of the said Estate being as followeth vizt:
To 6 Cowes 9 steares 3 yearlings 2 horses 14 Showse Some Small Shoates & more hoggs house -
Should stuff 2 ffeather beds 3 potts 1 ffreying pan a Mill 2 guns 5 milk pans 3 earthen pans
one pestoll 1 pare of plow Irons with harnish for Two horses New Inglish ware 3 Chests 1 croscutt
Shaw 1 hand Shaw 1 ogger 1 drawing knife 1 spade 1 ffroe 2 shifters 1 Look glass-
Now at This day (to witt) the 15th: day of August as aforesaid was brought the Orphants of the
Said Jenckin Morris deced in open Court as alsoe the peticoners aforesaid
Came Marmaduck Mister & desired to have the boy Called Jenckin Morris untill he came to
the Age of One and Twenty yeares of Age & in consideracon thereof he would teach the said
Jenckin Morris the Trade of a Tanner as alsoe he would teach the said Jenckin Morris to read &
write & that dureing the said Tearme & time he is to putt him to noe other worke then the Taning worke
Only that the said Jenckin Morris is to help the said Marmaduck Mister to make Corne & at the
Expiration of the said time or when that the said Jenckin Morris Attaines to the Age of One &
Twenty yeares the aforesaid Marmaduck Mister did then & there in Open Court promise to give
the said Jenckin Morris aforesaid a Sett of Tanners Tooles & Tenn hydes of Tanned Leather
which was Confirmed by the Court & both partyes thereupon agreed &a:
The same Day
Came Edward Gould & desired to have the daughter of the said Jenckin Morris deced Called
Sarah Morris untill she attained to the age of sixteen years & in consideracon thereof he would
the present yeare give her a Cow Calfe with her increase of ffemale which was granted him & this
day Cofirmed in Open Court The same Day
Came William Wheatly and desires to have the boy called John Morris untill he attaines
to the age of one & Twenty yeares & the daughter of the aforesaid Jenckin Morris deced called
ffrances Morris untill She comes to the Age of Sixteen yeares or the day of her Marriadge -
& in consideracon thereof he would give each of them at the expiracon of the said tearme
& Time a Two yeare old heffer which was granted him & Confirmed here in Court -
The samd Day Comrs: as aforesaid
Came Phillip Ascue & made agreement in Open Court to take Margarett Morris the daughter
of the aforesaid Jenckin Morris deced for a Twelve Mounth or one full yeare for to Serve
him the said Phillip Ascue & in consideracon thereof he the said Phillip Ascue is to
give the said Margarett Morris at the expiracon of the said Tearme of One yeare to
be Comenced from the date hereof ffive hundred pounds of good Sound Tobo: & Casque
The same Day Comrs: as aforesaid
The peticon of Samuell Hayden Shewing how that have paid mr: Wm: Brereton out of the
Estate of Sumor Adams deced being part of what left to his Childrin 3 stears on accot:
of a debt due from the said deced to one Thomas Hopson of virga: & desires a discharge for
To save him harmless upon wch: there was noe result made
The same Day Comrs: as aforesaid
mr: ffrancis Jenckins & mr: William Brereton Came & delivered up to this Court Two men
which thy tooke up as suspected Runaways the one called Wm: Morrison & the other -
Called Thomas Morrison whereupon it was ordered that the Sheriff take them into
his Custody & them keepe untill they give Security
