To y Worshipfull y Commrs of Sommrsett County y humble peticon of Anne Hazard : / :
That whereas yor petitionr being unfortunately left by her husband Edward Hazard with four small Children
&
having not a present qualificacon of mainetenance for them & having but a small interest left to maintain
yor petitionr & her children yett out of that Did Deliver to Alexander Draper one bill of John Rheneys for
1600lb
of Tobacco and one Child named David there to reside till y said Tobacco in y Childs mainetenance was
expended
and y said Children remaining with y said Draper neere four years y said Draper being not Satisfied with y
Said 1600lb of Tobacco Declares yt hee y said Draper will carry her y said Hazards Child to y horekill out
of y Limits
of this County yor Petitionr humbly prayes yt as a mother Shee may not bee separated from her child
contrary to
all Law & equity & if yor Petitionr in yor Worshipps favour Shall thinke fitt yt y Sd 1600lb of Tobacco is not
sufficient
for y Said Childs Diett for three yeares & three quarters (yor Petitionr haveing mainetained y Child Two
yeares
with Cloathes) yor Petitionr is ready to bee obedient to yor Worshipps Comands & as in Duty bound Shall
pray &c.
And y said Alexander Draper Cometh & Defendeth y force &c & ownes yt hee had y bill for 1600lb of
Tobacco and
gave itt in takeing another in his owne name but saith that was Satisfacon but for two yeares &c:/:
This Cort orders Alexander Draper to Deliver y Childe Sued for to y mother forthwith: / : ~ ~ ~ ~

Sommrsett Ss: Richard Chambers late of this County was Summoned to answr unto Thos: Strutten in an accon of y
Case
And whereupon y Said Stratton by his attorney Thomas Poole Saith yt hee y said Chambers became
indebted
to him y aforesaid Stratton y full & just Summ or quantity of five hundred pounds of Tobacco & Casque
upon y tenth Day of September last past Ao: Dom: 1676 which will in Court more plainely appeare
by evidence but hee y said Chambers fraudulently intending him y aforesaid Stratten to Deceive of y Sum
of 500lb pounds of Tobacco Doth Deny & Still doth Deny to pay y Same although often thereunto required
where
upon y plt Saith hee is Damnified & hath Damage to y value of 1000lb pounds of Tob: & thereupon brings
his Suit:
