Sommrsett Ss: John Aleward Tayler of this County was Sumoned to answr unto James Wetherly in a plea of Debt

And whereupon y said James by his attorney Thomas Poole Saith yt hee y said John became indebted unto
him y
Said James in y full & just Summ of Two thousand four hundred & thirty pounds of Tobacco & Casqe as
by a certain
writeing under his hand & seale bearing Date y tenth Day of November in y yeare Ao:Do: 1676 which

here in Cort wee have to produce wherein y said promises & assumed upon himselfe & Did binde himselfe
his
heirs execrs: or admrs: to pay or Cause to bee paid unto y aforesaid James his heirs Execrs: or admrs, or
assignes
y aforesaid summ of 2430lb of Tobacco but hee y sd John little regarding his promise & assumpcon but
fraudulently
intending him y said James to deceive of y summ aforesaid although often thereunto required whereupon y
sd
plaintiffe saith yt hee is Damnified & hath Damage to y value of 2998lb pounds of Tobacco and thereupon ~

This Bill bindeth mee John Aleward in y County of Sommrsett & province of Maryland Tayler mee my ~
heirs executors administrators & assignes in y just & full summ of Two thousand four hundred & thirty
pounds of good sound merchanteable Tobacco & Casqe to Containe y same & that to be paid unto James ~

And thereupon this Cort: orders an Attachment on y goods Chattells or Creditts of John Aleward for two
Thousand eight hundred pounds of Tobacco to answr y suit of James Wetherly in a plea of Debt
