Sommrsett Ss: Cornelius Verhoof late of this County was summoned to answr unto Robt Catlin, Senior in
A plea of Debt:
And whereupon y Said Robert Catlin by his attorney Thomas Poole Saith yt hee y said Cornelius became
indebted unto him y Said Robert y Just Summe or quantity of Six hundred & thirty pounds of good Sound

chanteable Tobacco with Casqe as pr a certaine writeing here in Cort produced more plainely will appear
signed with y hand & sealed with y Seale of him y said Cornelius Verhoofe bearing Date y thirteenth
Day of March Annoq Domini 1674/5 wherein y said Cornelius did assume upon himselfe & promise
to pay or Cause to bee paid unto y Sd Robert or his heirs admrs: or assignes (for a valuable Consideracon
in hand then recd y sd quantity of 630lb of Tob: with Casqe by y tenth Day of gbr: next ensueinge
y Date of y Sd writeing conveniently in Pocomoke or Annamessex & for ye true performance thereof
bindes himselfe his heirs admrs: or assignes: but hee y Sd Cornelius fraudulently intending to deceive
him y Sd Robert of y aforeSd quantity of 630lb of Tob: with Casqe denieth & still Doth to pay the-
Same allthough often thereunto required y plt Saith hee is Damnified & hath Damage to y value
of Two Thousand pounds of Tobacco & thereupon brings his Suite:/ pro quer: Tho: Poole:
This bill bindeth mee Cornelius Verhoofe Carpenter of Somrsett County in y province of Maryland mee my
heirs admrs or assignes to pay or cause to be paid unto Robert Catlin planter of y same County & province
abovesaid him & his heirs administrators or assignes y full & just quantity of Six hundred & thirty pounds
of good
sound merchantable Tobacco with Casqe & being for y use of Alexander Molestine for a valuable
Consideracon
allready in hand received to Containe y Same by y tenth of november next ensueing after y Date hereof
convenient

Whereupon y said Randall by his attorney Edward Jones Saith yt the aforesaid David Dale became indebted

y aforeSd: Randall Revell in y Summ of Eight hundred pounds of Tob: in Casqe as Doth appeare by a
certain writing
under y aforesd Dales hand & Seale bearing Date y fourth Day of Decembr: in y yeare 1674: which
writeing
wee have here in Cort: but y aforeSd Dale little regarding his promise & assumpcon but fraudulently
intending
him to Deceive in y Summ of eight hundred pounds of Tobacco with Casqe: although often thereunto
required
whereupon y Said Revell Saith hee is Damnified & hath Damadge to y value & Losse of sixteene hundred
pounds of Tobacco whereupon hee brings his Suit: p quer: Edward Jones:/:
And this Day to witt y 18th of Aaprill 1676: y Deft David Dale by his attorney Thomas Poole Cometh

y Cort: And y Said Thomas Poole acknowledgeth & Confesseth judgement for & in y behalfe of y Sd David
Dale
for eight hundred pounds of Tobacco being Due to y plt: whereupon y Cort orders yt the Deft: David Dale

unto Randall Revell or his order eight hundred pounds of Tobacco & Cost of Suit: alias execucon :/:

Whereas George Banes Servant to Mr Charles Ballard of this County gentl was brought before y Cort: this
day
to have his age judged the Said George Banes Comeing into this province without indenture & brought

y Cort: within y time limited by act of assembly in Such Cases made after a full veiw had and taken by
y Said Justices of y Said Servt they Doe adjudge y Said Servant George Banes to bee fourteene years
