Sommersett Ss : Mile Gray late of Sommersett County was atached
to answer unto William Tompson in A plea of
Trespas upon the Case ; / ; ~ ~ ~ ~
Whereupon the said Tompson for himselfe saith That he the
said Gray Did on the nineteenth day of August last past Ao:
Domini 1672 Contrary to the good Lawes of our Lopps: Province
and without the knowledge or Consent of him the said Tompson
Did assume upon himselfe to take of from the Land of mr:
Randall Revell A Chesnut Colloured mare with a white patch
upon her forehead to the vallue of twenty pounds Sterling
and her Converted to his owne proper Service and hath not
delivered the said mare to the present Day by reason of which
the said Tompson is left uncapable to performe such his
bussnes as his occasions required and for which the said
Tompson at his great Charge transported himselfe into this
province besides the Dammage Don to the said mare being by
the said Tompson unknowne She being not in A Condicon to
performe such servis as the said Gray Imployed her in by
riding her to the horekill the plaintiffe saith he is Dampnified
for want of the said mare to the vallue of Two Thousand
pounds of tobacco and thereupon he bringeth his Sute ; /
