Agreeably to a Resolve of the General Assembly for competing the records of the
Chancery Office, the Board have contracted with Mr. Samuel Harvey Howard Register in
Chancery to transcribe and record in a proper manner and in good books, to be procured at
his own Expence the Proceedings of the Court of Chancery from the year 1773 to December
in the year 1786 at the rate of seven pounds of Tobacco per side. The Board have also agreed
in order to enable the said Register to carry on the work and complete the said Records as
speedily as possible to advance to him from time to time such sum or sums of money as he
shall make appear by his account under Oath, he shall be entitled to for services performed in
the said business the time of the application for such advance.
