Liber N N Mark Cordea agt Jno Blomfield

Marke Cordea of St Maryes County gentl complain- eth against John Blomfield gentl one of the Attor- neys of this Court here prsent in Court of a plea of trespasse of the case

		And whereupon the said Marke by Robert Candle his Attorney saith, that whereas the said John Blomfield upon the seventeenth day of June in the yeare of our Lord One thousand six hundred Seventy eight stood justly indebted unto the said Marke upon the ballance of accompts made upp between them in the Sume of five thousand six hundred Seventy & two pounds of tobacco as by a particuler accompt thereof under the hand of the said John Blom- field a copy whereof is hereunto annexed may appeare, he the said John Blomfield in consideracon thereof did assume upon himselfe & to the said Marke did faithfully promise that he the said John the said Sume of five thousand six hundred seventy & two pounds of tobacco to him the said Marke when he should be thereunto law- fully requested would well & truely content & pay Yet notwithstand- ing the said John his promise and assumpcon aforesaid little reguard- ing, but deviseing & fraudulently intending him the said Marke in this behalfe craftily & subtily to defraud & deceive, the said Sume of five thousand six hundred Seventy two pounds of tobacco to him the said Marke though often thereunto requested hath not paid or satisfied, but the same to pay hath hitherto denyed & refused, & the same still to pay doth deny, to the damage of the said Marke tenn

And the said John Blomfield one of the Attorneys of this Court although solemnly called came not to answer the said Marke Cordea in the plea aforesaid Therefore itt is considered by the Court here this day to witt the sixth day of June in the fourth yeare of the Dominion of Charles Lord Baltemore &c Annoq Doni 1679. that judgemt be entred upp against the said John Blomfield for default thereof And that the said Marke Cordea recover against the said John Blomfield as well the sume of five thousand six hundred Sev- enty & two pounds of tobacco damages As also five hundred thirty two pounds of tobacco cost of suite And the Defendt in mercy &c

Robert Carvile agt Leonard Coate & ux: Admx Russell

Leonard Coate late of Ann Arundell County & Martha his wife Admx of the Goods & Chatties of Wm Russell deceased were Attached to Answer unto Robert Carvile one of the Attorneys of this Court of a plea that they render unto him the

sume of two thousand two hundred & Eighteen pounds of tobacco
which from him they unjustly detaine

And whereupon the said Robert in his proper person saith, that
whereas the said W^m Russell upon the twenty ninth day of Octob^r
