prietary of this Province, on all Tobacco exported out of the same,
under Pretence and Colour of the Act of 1704, is not warranted
by Law.

Resolved, Nemine contradicente, That if the above Act of 1704,
had been in fforce from the Restoration of the Government by the
Crown, to the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary to this
Time; yet the Sum of three Pence Sterling, Part of the said twelve
Pence Sterling, agreeable to the plain Construction of the above-
mentioned Act of 1704, and her late Majesty Queen Anne's Instruc-
tions to her Governor here, when the said Act was in fforce, ought
to be applied towards the purchasing of Arms and Ammunition,
for the Defence of this Province
Were read and unanimously approved of
The following Message Viz.t
By the Lower House of Assembly October 3.d 1771
May it please your Honours,

This House hath appointed from Nine O'Clock in the Morning
until One in the Afternoon for its Sitting every Day, during this
Session, for the Dispatch of the publick Business.
Signed by Order Jn.° Duckett Cl. Lo. Ho.

Was sent to the Upper House by M.r Moale and M.r Harrison
The Report of the 20.th November last which was referred to this
Day was read and referred for Consideration on Thursday next
Ordered, That M.r Tilghman, M.r Chase, M.r Hall, M.r So.
Wright, and M.r Hammond, be a Committee of Elections and
Privileges
M.r Beall, M.r Tyler, M.r Harrison, M.r Mackall, M.r Worthington,
M.r Chamberlaine and M.r Johnson a Committee of Grievances and
Courts of Justice: And they have Power to send for Persons
Papers and Records.
Ordered, That the said Committee do forthwith publish in the
Maryland Gazette their Hour and Place of Sitting during this
Session
Ordered, That M.r Thomas Wright, M.r W. Richardson, M.r Earle
M.r Deye and M.r Chamberlaine be a Committee of Accounts
Ordered, That M.r Contee, M.r Parran, M.r Jordan, M.r Rumsey,
M.r Ennalls, M.r Worthington and M.r Beall be a Committee to
inspect the Office and Proceedings of the Commissioners for emitting
Bills of Credit
Ordered, That a Message be prepared to the Upper House ac-
quainting them therewith
Ordered, That M.r Tyler, M.r Mackall, M.r Harrison, M.r W.
Thomas, M.r Handy, M.r So. Wright, and M.r Ennals be a Com-
