This House met again according to Adjournment.
Present as in the Morning and Col.o Lloyd.

Mess.rs Edmondson Gant and Chaille attend with Mr Woolman
Gibson Member Elected for Talbot County, John Adams and Wil-
liam Adams for Somerset County, and Joseph Chaplin for Frederick
County, to see them Qualified who take the Oaths to the Government
appointed to be taken by Act of Assembly repeat and Subscribe the
Abjuration and Test, and then withdraw.

presents to His Excellency their Address which follows in these
Words

To His Excellency Horatio Sharpe Esq.r Governor and Commander
in Chief in and over the Province of Maryland.

The Humble Address of the Upper House of Assembly
May it please Your Excellency.

To accept the Thankful Acknowledgements of His Majestys Duti-
ful and Loyal Subjects the Upper House of Assembly for Your very
kind Speech at the Opening of this Session.

Your Excellency's Convening, the General Assembly of the Prov-
ince at this Juncture hath We are persuaded given the People great
Satisfaction and is an Instance of your Excellency's affectionate
Regard for those over whom You happily preside.

Sensible how much it is at present wanted in the Province We
hope some Method will during the Course of the Session be fallen
upon to bring into Circulation the Money Your Excellency Mentions,
And We beg leave to assure you that We shall on Our Part En-
deavour to cultivate the best understanding with the Gentlemen who
Compose the other House and flatter Ourselves that as We are
equally Interested in the Welfare of Our Country there will be no
other Contention between Us than who shall Endeavour most to
