By the Committee appointed to enquire and examine into the
Allegations and Facts contained in the Petitions of Capt.n Joshua
Bealle and Francis Weare of Rezin Bealle of Barton Lucas & of
Alexander Somerville 2.d Dec.r 1765
Your Committee find that the Captains Joshua Bealle and Francis
Ware were Captains of two of the Companies of Soldiers raised by
this Province and acted as such during the Time specified in their
Petition
That it appears by the private Book of Accounts of Captain Bealle
and by the Book containing the Gen.l Accounts of the Distribution
of the Money paid by the Crown that the s.d Capt.n Bealle has not
been reimbursed the Sum of £195..12s.. 2d which he has advanced
for the Officers and private Men of the Company as by an Abstract
from the said Books herewith delivered to the House will appear
That it appears that the said Capt.n Bealle has lost the Sum of
£22..1s..10 1/2d being part of a Sum of Money charged to him on
Acco.t and laid out for Cloathing distributed among his Company
as by the Abstract aforesaid will also appear And Moreover that the
said Capt.n Bealle is charged with the Sum of £16..13s..9d his Pro-
portion of the Charges for Expences in Sollicking for and receiving
the Money paid by the Crown
Your Committee herewith deliver to the House an Abstract of a
like Account laid before them by Capt.n Ware which they have
exaied and compared with Capt.n Ware's private Book and the
General Books of Accounts before mentioned and find he is in
Advance a Sum of £172..16s..6d for Money advanced to the Officers
and private Men of his Company for Cloathing distributed among
his Company and for his proportion of the Expence of solliciting for
and receiving the Money paid by the Crown
Your Committee take Leave to observe to the Honble House that
over and above the Sums of Money which the said Capt.ns are
actually in Advance they have sustained a very considerable Loss
from the Delay of the Payment of the Sums they received from the
Crown and the different Value of the Money they were paid from
that they had a Right to expect
Your Committee find that Rezin Bealle served as a Lieu.t and
Ensign in Capt.n Wares Company during the Time in his Petition
mentioned and that he received the Pay due to him as such from
the Crown excepting the Sum of £6..12s..6d charged to him as his
proportion of the Expence of solliciting for & receiving the said
Money
Your Committee find that he was dangerously wounded during
the Time of his Service and take Leave to observe that he must
have been at a considerable Charge and suffered much Inconvenience
Occasioned by the same Wound as he was Incapable of doing any
Thing for a long Time after the Troops were actually disbanded
