On Motion Mr Gibson hath Leave of Absence 'til Thursday next
On Reading the Bill Entituled an Act for the Relief of several
languishing prisoners in the Goals therein mentioned
On Motion this House doth agree with the first Amendment pro-
posed by the Upper House
And on Motion the Question was put that this House doth agree
to the last part of the second Amendment proposed by the Upper
House
Resolved in the Negative
The Bill Entituled a Supplementary Act to the Act Entituled An
Act ascertaining what Damages shall be allowed upon protested Bills
of Exchange
was read the second Time and will pass
Samuel Wilson Esq.r brings in and delivers to Mr Speaker a Bill
Entituled a Supplementary Act to the Act for amending the Staple
of Tobacco &c which Bills were severally read the first Time and
Ordered to lye on the Table
The Supplementary Act to the Act Entituled an Act for the speedy
Recovery of Small Debts out of Court before one Justice of the
peace
The Question was put whether the Quantity of Tobacco that the
Magistrate is to make his Determination on be 1000.lb or 800lb of
Resolved that it be 1000lb of Tobacco
