Message of the 8..th November & Murrays Letter.
By the Lower House of Assembly 20 Decem.r 1765.
May it please your Honours,
This House having taken into Consideration the Case of the un-
happy Sufferers by the Fire in Montreal in May last did resolve that
they would contribute a Sum of Money for their Relief; but a

Difference in Opinion having arisen among us about the Quantum
of the Sum it would be proper to apply to that Purpose, having
respect to our own Circumstances and the heavy Debt with which
the Country is now burthened, we have resolved to refer the Con-
sideration of that Matter to the next Session of Assembly and here-
with return your Honours the Papers you sent us relative to that
Subject.

The Engrossed Bill by the same Gentleman entitled an Act for
limiting the Time for sinking the Paper Bills of Credit now Current
in this Province & other Purposes therein mentioned.
Read & assented to by the Lower House.
Read and assented to in this House & ordered to be so subscribed.
The Paper Bills so endorsed sent by Daniel Dulany Esquire.
A Bill by the same Gentleman entitled an Act to enable the Com-
missioners or Trustees of the Loan Office to purchase stationary
Ware for the Use of the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly.
Read the first and second Time in the Lower House and will pass
Read the first and second Time by especial Order in this House
and will pass, so endorsed and sent by Benedict Calvert Esquire.
