Liber B B Thomas Wynne plt the plt sues as in petcon folio 242, Craues a uide folio Wm Hollingworth Jury which was Granted_Warrt to Sherriffe by his Attorney to impannell a Iury ret: forthwith Tho: Dent deft Sherriffe returnes his writt and warned— Foreman George Thompson Samuell Garland Wm Roswell Joseph Horslev ffran: Armstrong James White Thomas Innes Daniell Clocker Rob: Chysicke Robt Hooper George Beckwith Robt Robins The Jurors hauing theire Charge giuen wth the Seuerall deposi tions deliuered by the plt,—retir'd-— Walter Pake aged 55 yeares or thereabouts Sworne this 19th day of January 166¾ sayth— That sometime in ffeb: last Mr William Hollingworth and Mr John Hammond being both together att this ts howse, this De- pont then desired Mr Hollingworth to forbeare him two hogshead of tobaccoe till there came a Season that hee might pay him, for which two hhgs of tob: Mr Hammond had passed his note the said Ham mond being uery Vrgent with this Depont for the same, which moued him to speake to Mr Hollingworth about it, and Mr Hollingworth [.263] replyed and told this depont that Mr Hammond had allready paid him that tobaccoe and all other tobacco which the said Hammond ought to him, and further that the said Hollingworth was indebted to the sd Hammond ffifteene or sixteene hundred pounds of tobacco— Sworne before mee Walter Pake Willm Bretton The Deposition of Willm Price aged 25 yeares or thereabouts Saith that Mr Willm Hollingworth being att a Court held at New towne wth Mrs Lee after hee came back it being about ffeb° last or thereabouts, this Depont asked for a discharge of the sd Hollingworth for 25oolb tob: that Mistris Lee had Ordred him and Mr Hamond then paid. Hee said I am Ordred and haue notes for the tobaccoe from Mr Hammond But cannot as yet discharge yow howeuer yow see I demand not the tobacco of Mrs Lee, And further this deponant saith not Wm Price Jurat in Coram Wm Bretton August 24th 1663 Hannah Lee aged 50 yeares or thereabouts Came before mee and Sweareth that being att a Cort held att Newtowne in ffeb: last John Hammond came to mee and told mee how that hee had paid unto Mr Willm Hollingworth flue & twenty hundred pounds of tob: for |
