[Council to Commanding Officer in Annapolis.]

We request you will be so obliging to furnish Mr John Roberts
with a Guard of a noncommissioned Officer and four Privates, for
the Purpose of a Guard to be put on Board a Vessel to transport
public Horses from Kent Island to this City.

As the select Militia now on Duty at Frederick Town will prob-
ably be relieved by Militia without Arms, we request, in that Case,
that you will order the Select Militia to deliver their Arms to Major
Baily, who will be accountable for them.

[Council to Mr David Poe, D. Q. M.]

There is a considerable Quantity of Cloathing and Accoutriments,
under the Care of the Officer who will deliver you this, of very great
Importance to the Southern Army. The Vessel in which these Stores
are at present, is, by the Report of the Officer, unfit to proceed on
her Voyage, and unless some immediate Step is taken to forward
them, the Service of the Continent will be greatly injured. We there-
fore request you to use every Means in your Power to comply with

the reasonable Requisition the Officer may make.

Friday 7th December 1781.

Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to Samuel White
a wounded soldier of the 3d Regimt a suit of Cloaths, one shirt one
pair Shoes & one pair Stockings for the present year and to Robert
Johnson late a soldier in the 2d Maryland Regiment one Coat, one
Vest 1 pr Overalls, two shirts one pair Shoes, one hat & one Blanket,
due him. —

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Joseph Blake two
pounds, sixteen shillings and three pence of the Bills emitted under
the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca of the money appro-
priated for the present Campaign due him per Acct passed by the
Aud Gt
That the said Treasurer pay to the said Joseph Blake, seventeen
pounds, eleven shillings and two pence of the same Emission, of the
money aforesaid for the use of himself and a Detachment of Capt
Skinners Company of Militia in Calvert County due them per Acct
passed by A Gl.
That the said Treasurer pay to Frederick Green seventy two
pounds, four shillings and four pence of the same Emission of the
money appropriated for the Defence of the State due him per Ac-
count passed by the Aud. Genl. —
