That the said Treasurer pay to Joseph Middleton seven pounds
and seven pence half penny of the same Emission in lieu of Two
hundred and eighty one pounds five shillings for one and a half days
hire of his Boat to look out whilst the Enemy were in Patuxent and
Choptank River.
That the said Treasurer pay to John H. Stone Esqr one hundred
Pounds of the same Emission on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to His Excellency Thomas Sim Lee
Esquire one hundred Pounds of the same Emission on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Ensign John T. Lowe one pound,
thirteen shillings of the same Emission in lieu of Sixty six pounds
due him p acct passed by the D. Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Frederick Gramar Ten pounds,
fourteen shillings and six pence of the same Emission in lieu of
four hundred and twenty nine pounds due him per Account passed
by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to John H. Stone Esquire to be
delivered over to John McLure sixty seven hhds of Tobacco weighing
sixty five thousand eight hundred and seventy Pounds net to be by
him accounted for at fifty five Pounds p hundd & four p Cent.
That the Issuing Commissary deliver to Ensign John T. Lowe
four gallons of Rum sixteen pounds of Sugar and nine pounds of
Coffee stores due him for the Months of October and November.

You will be pleased to sell the Pistols in your Possession belong-
ing to the State, to those Gentlemen who may incline to serve in
the Volunteer Troop of Horse raising in Frederick County.

[Council to Colonel John Dorsey.]

We have had Information that two of the Enemies small Priva-
teers have captured several of the Bay Craft as high as the Mouth
of Patuxent where by the last Accounts they yet remain with their
Prizes, one of the privateers from our Account is the Cat a Schooner
of four Guns, the other is said to be of eight, we hear that two Brigs
belonging to Colonel Hooe and Captain Conway of superiour Force
are ready for Sea in Saint Marys River, and by Jessee Hollingsworth
we learn that a Vessel of Force in which he is interested is probably
now ready at Alexandria to come round to Baltimore. The
General Assembly have desired that we should as privately as may
be put in Motion any Force, we can or may think necessary for
the Destruction or Capture of these Enemies Privateers, and have
enabled us to enter into all proper Engagements for that End
We have therefore applied to Colonel Hooe Captain Conway and
