Mr Speaker is ordered to acquaint Mr Mills that he is dismissed
from any further Attendance in this House: Which he does
accordingly.
And Ordered, that Mr Speaker issue his Warrant to the Secretary
of this Province, to make out a Writ of Election directed to the
Sheriff of St. Mary's County, for the Electing a Representative to
serve in this present General Assembly, in the room of Mr Mills.
Mr Speaker communicates to the House the following Message
from his Excellency, viz.
Gentlemen of the Lower House of Assembly.
I think proper to lay before you for your Perusal a Letter, with
some other Papers, which I have just received from the Governor
of New York, and recommend to your Consideration, what measur-
res may be necessary to enable me to comply with Mr Clinton's Pro-
posals for his Majesty's Service and our Security.

With a Letter from George Clinton Esqre Governor of New York,
and other Papers relating to the six nations of Indians, which were
read, and ordered to lie for further Consideration.
The House adjourns 'til 2 of the Clock

Post Meridiem
The House met according to Adjournment.
On Motion of a Member that a Bill be brought in, entituled, An
Act for Gauge of Barrels for Pork, Beef, Pitch, Tar, and Tare of
Barrels for Flour or Bread: Leave given, and ordered that the Com-
mittee of Laws prepare and bring in the same.
