That the said Treasurer pay to Capt. John Gassaway five thousand
Dollars Continl Currency to reimburse him for his reasonable ex-
pences in coming to Maryland on behalf of the Captured Officers
belonging to this State now in South Carolina and to enable him to
return " agreeable to his Parole " according to a Resolution of the
Genl Assembly passed this Day.
Permission is hereby given to Mary Wilson of this State and
Elizabeth & Alice McCarter, the two latter Children of a certain
William McCarter now in the City of New York neither of whom
exceeds Eight years of Age, to solicit Leave from His Excellency
Genl Washington or the Commanding Officer at the Out Posts of the
American Army at Elizabeth Town to go into the City of New York.

Sir We request you would furnish Colo Moses Rawlings, for
Continental Uses, with what Pork and Flour you have on Hand,
when he applies.

[Council to His Exy Governor Levingston]

Sir Since I had the Honor of addressing your Excellency yester-
day, by Mr Key, the Delegates of Maryland have resolved that
the Conditions contained in the Enclosure should be annexed to the
Recommendation of Mr Scott to your Excellency, I have therefore
to request, the desired Passport may be granted to Mr Scott on his
complying with the Terms prescribed

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Daniel Carroll
Esqr Seventy five Pounds of the new Emission on Account.

That the said Treasurer pay to Colo Job Garretson, Thirteen
Pounds, eleven shillings and fiev Pence of the new Emission in lieu
of one hundred and ninety five Pounds two shillings and six Pence
and three hundred and forty seven Pounds, fifteen shillings p Acce
passed by the Depy Aud.

[Council to Colo. Moses Rawlings]

Sir Governor Jefferson has informed us that the Executive of
Virginia have given Orders for the Removal of the Convention
Troops from that State, to Fort Frederick to prevent an Attempt
being made by the Enemy to rescue them out of their Hands. We
thought it necessary you should be apprized of this Order, that
Preparation might be made for their Reception & support. Mr
