Mr Warfield Ordered to Acquaint the Reverend Mr Humphreys
to Read Divine Service at the Hours of Seven in the forenoon and
at five in the Afternoon During this Session.
Mr Dulany from the Committee of Laws brings in the following
Address
To his Excellency Samuel Ogle Esqr Governour of Maryland.
The Humble Address of the Lower House of Assembly.

May it please your Excellency.

We his Majestys most Dutifull and Loyal Subjects the Repre-
sentatives of the free Men of Maryland return your Excellency,
our most hearty thanks for your kind Speech at the Opening of this
Session and for the regard you have had to the Convenience of the
time of its being held.
We assure your Excellency that the News of the Favourable
Passage and Safe Arrival in great Britain of our Lord Proprietary
and his Lady, to whom we wish with the greatest Sincerity All
happiness and Prosperity, was most Welcome and Agreable to us,
as it always will be to hear of the Welfare of his Lordship and his
Noble family.
We acknowledge with the deepest sense of Gratitude his Lord-
ships great Care to prevent the Counterfeiting Our Bills of Credit
as a Singular service to this Province and a Demonstration of his
Lordships Generous and Paternal Care for its Interest: The Diffi-
culty if not Impossibility of Counterfeiting those Bills cannot fail
of Adding to their real Worth, and the Supporting their Credit is of
that Importance to the People of Maryland that they may Justly
Deem any Person who shall Endeavour to Depreciate them, to be
an Enemy to their Country and we hope and Trust that the United
Efforts of those who have the Publick Interest at Heart will render
all Endeavours to prejudice our Paper Currency fruitless and Abor-
tive and that every Attempt to such a wicked purpose will be at-
tended with Shame and Disappointment.
It cannot be denied but that it is Necessary at all times to have a
Sufficient fund for Supplying the Country with Arms and Ammu-
