At a Councill in Assembly held at the City of Annapolis the
29th day of May in the third year of the Reign of our Sovn
Lord King George &c and in the 2d of his Lordships the Right
honble the Lord Proprys Dominion &c Annoq Dmi 1717
Appeared in the Councill Chamber His Excy Jno Hart Esqr

Members of his Lordships honble Councill of State
Col. John Mackall Mr James Stoddert & Capt Daniel Mari-
artee came from the lower house & acquainted his Excy that
there were a sufficient number of members met to make an
house And that Mr Speaker & that house waited his Excel-
lency's Comands
Capt Mariartee & Mr Stoddert from the lower house present
Michael Jenifer Gent whom they have Chose their Clerk. And
being approved of takes the several Oaths appointed by the
Act of Assembly to the Government & an oath for the due
Execution of his Office


Esqr Brook & Col. Holland sent to the lower house to
acquaint Mr Speaker that his Excy requires their Attendance
at this board, who return & say they Delivered it.
Thereupon Mr Speaker with the members of that house
attend this board where his Excy is pleased on behalf of their
Lordships to bespeak them after this manner.

Baltimore.
Guilford. We take this Opportunity to make known to you
that we have approved & Confirmed all those Laws trans-
mitted to us which were made ready for our Assent at a
Session of Assembly begun and held at our City of Annapolis
the seventeenth day of July in the first year of our Dominion,
Except that laying An Additional Duty of four pounds p poll,
on the King's Protestant as well as other his Majestys Sub-
