the upper house vizt.
By the Lower House of Assembly May 2d 1718.
May it please yor Honrs
We have read Capt Hardy's petition with Mr Attorney
Generall's Opinion thereon in this House but as there are not
any Facts therein Set forth whereby We can concieve Capt
Hardy to be aggrieved so We know not how to provide for
his relief However We begg Leave to observe that the Act
of Assembly sufficiently provides for the Speedy recovery of
Debts in the County Courts by Sending of Copies of Declara-
cons with the writts wch as We take it was chiefly design'd
for the Interest of Traders and fforeigners.
As to that part of Mr Attorney Generall's Opinion relating
to the passing a Bill for the making valid the Depositions
of Sea faring men absent of this Province in the Severall
County Courts We shall further Consider thereof.
