desirous to ease and favour the honest well meaning sort of
People by giving their particular Directions to the respective
Sheriffs. Yet they cannot consent to such a Law without the
manifest Violation of the Trust and Duty in them reposed in
Enacting a Thing repugnant to the Laws of England as well
as this Province.

Ordered That Major Woolford be allowed this present Year
the Sum of Eight Pounds in Part for a Flagg Staff; and that
the Honble Robert Ungle Esq. Treasurer of the Eastern Shore
pay it and on his erecting the same and finding Cedar Frame
he is to be allowed the Sum of Eight Pounds more the next
Year.

Ordered That Capt Daniel Mariarte and Major Woolford
go up to the Honble Council to see William Blayden Esq.
prove his Accounts.
They return and say they see him prove the same.
The Petition of Richard Young praying that his Allowance
may be paid him this present Year in Ann Arundel County
was read and granted.

The Committee of Accounts enter the House and deliver
Mr Speaker their Journal which is read and assented to and
ordered to be thus indorsed Viz.

Read and assented to, by the House of Delegates and
Signed p Order Tho. Macnemara Cl. Ho. Del.

Sent up to the Honble Council by Mr Joseph Hill, Capt.
Scott, Captain Greenfield and Mr Thomas Brooke.
They return and say they delivered the same
Colo Samuel Young from the Honble Council enters the
House and delivers Mr Speaker the Journal of the Committee
of Accounts thus indorsed Viz.

Read and assented by her Majesty's Honble Council and
Signed p Order W. Bladen Cl. Conl.

A Bill for adjusting the publick Charge of this Province
and appointing a Committee to apportion the same for this
present Year one thousand seven hundred and fourteen Read
the first and second Time by special Order and ordered to be
thus indorsed Viz.
